A series about growing your own food and making your own herbal medicine presented by the fabulous Síle Nic Chonaonaigh. If Climate Change is the disease, then Garraí Glas is the cure. I directed 54 of these programs between 2009 and 2015 (!). We had great craic meeting very inspiring people, and having a lot of tea and scones in between the hard work. The approach is folky and somewhat romanticised, but that was deliberate. This series has inspired others to grow their own food without chemicals and to be more self-sufficient. We’re very proud of it.
The publicity photo was taken in a walled garden near Nenagh. The owners didn't mind us building a scaffold and raiding the garden. It is my favourite promo pic of Síle for the series taken by Colm Hogan.
